*Note this post will be updated with the latest status and info on Earl for easier following. New Tweets will be sent out each time it is updated but please check back often so you know where it is and what is coming.

*Remember the track is anticipated track of the hurricane. Pay attention to that cone around the track, to the left and right. This indicates where the hurricane could actually be as time progresses. In other words things change, especially hurricanes, and do unexpected stuff so be prepared.

Red Cross An Important Asset

hot off the press

Learning how to protect yourself before a disaster hits and how to ensure your highest rate of survival will make you far ahead of the game. Understanding what help you have available during and after a disaster will make your life that much better. The Red Cross is one of those organizations you need to know about. I am not receiving any compensation for this post, I am just a steadfast believer that the Red Cross does a great job and everyone should know about them.

When you think of the Red Cross what do you think of first? Giving blood? CPR? Teaching kids to swim? How about feeding thousands of people hours after a disaster strikes? Or making sure that family who lost their house to fire has clothing and a place to sleep? The Red Cross is there during nearly every disaster large and small and they will be there when you need them. If you don’t volunteer, you should, and if you do volunteer then thank you.

The Red Cross provides shelters during large disasters such as hurricanes and they probably have one close to you. While the decision to go to a shelter depends on many things, knowing where they are is a good start and one thing you should do on your preparation list. Here is a link to find the locations nearest you. Just type in your address and it will locate then for you. As always don’t wait to the last minute. Find out know, you never know when you might need them.

Have you ever volunteered, used the Red Cross or know someone who does? If so we would love to hear about it in the comments.

Thanks and enjoy the site.
