We read so much about the here and now in crime. Who just got shot and what the latest flavor of crime happens to be. Too often it seems the stories fade from memory as they fade from the headlines. Newer, more visible, more attention grabbing things horrors replace the crimes of yesterday. The crimes don’t go away, we just replace them in our posts, our thoughts, our prayers with others. So I thought a series of posts reminding people about past attention grabbing crimes that are still unsolved would be in order. As always if you have any information on these crimes then please let the police know. A mother, a father, grand parents, these people all had them and they miss the victim every single day.
Best Friends shot 13 times, found in ditch
Two young girls, considered best friends, were found shot to death five months ago on the side of a dirt road not far from their homes in the small rural town of Weleetka, Oklahoma.
These two girls were found just a few weeks ago and already their story has fallen into the cold cases file. A seemingly random crime there have been no arrests in this case. A town of this size it would seem someone who didn’t belong there would really stand out. Apparently this isn’t the case or the person or persons who did this aren’t strangers.
Police and family ask that anyone who has information that might lead to the arrest of an individual responsible for the death of Skyla Whittaker and Taylor Paschal-Placker call the tip line at 1-800-522-8017. The reward being offered is in excess of $30,000.
